The Mercer Island Park-and-Ride Is Now Open

Message from Sound Transit

Sound Transit is pleased to announce the opening of the Mercer Island Park-and-Ride on January 21, 2008. After working through some difficult challenges during construction, all remaining issues have been resolved and the project is now ready to open for service. While Sound Transit regrets the opening delay, our priority has always been to make sure the garage is safe and fully operational.

Interim parking and expanded shuttle service that was provided during construction will be discontinued at the end of the service day on Friday, February 8, 2008.

We appreciated your patience as Sound Transit worked to resolve the issues, complete the project and open the park-and-ride to commuters. For more information, please visit www.soundtransit.org.

Wow! $16.8 million, two years of construction and over 4 years since the original documentation was completed, we can use the Park and Ride. And just think what Sound Transit could do with $11 billion, 20 years and light rail.
